If you’re a small business owner interested in securing government contracts with the Washington State government, registering your small business with Washington’s Electronic Business Solution (WEBS) is essential. This platform notifies businesses about state agency contracts, bids, and other government procurement opportunities. By signing up, you’ll receive automatic bid notifications, gain visibility in the Statewide Vendor Database, and access technical assistance programs.

  1. It’s quick, straightforward, and free.
The process of registering in WEBS only takes a few minutes to create an account and input basic business information and it’s completely free to register and to remain registered.
  2. You gain access to contracting opportunities with the dozens of agencies and institutions that make up the government of Washington State.
The first step in being eligible to contract with any state agency, public university, or other public entity in Washington is being registered in WEBS.
  3. WEBS is the place to hear about current and upcoming contract opportunities and to submit bids for those contracts.
After you list the relevant NAICS codes for your business and enable notifications, WEBS will automatically notify you about contracting opportunities relevant to your NAICS codes. At any time, you can also manually search for open opportunities.
  4. Registering in WEBS lists your business in the Statewide Vendor Database.
State agencies can search the Statewide Vendor Database to directly buy goods and services from the businesses listed. Agencies may also filter by diverse-owned businesses specifically.
  5. The Department of Enterprises Services (DES) often develops technical assistance and capacity building programs targeted for businesses registered in WEBS.
In order to qualify for technical assistance, training, and support programs administered by DES, your business must be registered in WEBS.

Registering your business in WEBS is the first step to opening a world of opportunities with the Washington State government. The ease of registering combined with the multitude of benefits makes the decision a no-brainer for any business looking to expand its horizons in the public sector.
